Company Policy

Thank you for choosing ICANN Moving Company. Over the years, we have served thousands of clients with a wide range of special requests. Our moving crew will do its best to accommodate your needs; however, some requests may involve risks, and we cannot be responsible for outcomes related to those requests. To help avoid misunderstandings on moving day, please carefully review our company policy below.

Local Moving

1. Moving Cost. The final cost of your move is based on the total labor hours, including travel time, multiplied by the hourly rate shown on your estimate.
2. Labor Move Time. Labor time begins when our crew arrives at your location and ends when the crew leaves your destination. Moving time is billed in 15-minute increments at the rate listed on your estimate. Travel between the origin and destination is included as labor time.
3. Customer Presence. An authorized representative must be present throughout the move. The customer is responsible for completing a final walk-through inspection to confirm that all items have been taken and delivered. Labor time continues until all tools and equipment are returned to the truck and payment is complete.
4. Materials Use. ICANN Moving Company provides an all-inclusive rate that includes the materials needed to complete your move, with no additional charges for materials used on moving day for the following services: furniture pad wrapping using moving pads and tape, new mattress covers, TV boxes, packing for mirrors, glass tops, glass shelves, glass doors, large artwork, and free use of wardrobe boxes on moving day for hanging garments only.
5. Packing Materials. Our truck carries a standard supply of boxes: 5 small boxes, 5 medium boxes, 5 large boxes, 5 dish packs, and a bundle of packing paper. If you expect us to provide packing services, please notify us in advance. Boxes and supplies used to pack items not included in our standard packing services may be subject to additional charges unless otherwise specified in your moving estimate.
6. Additional Services. If unexpected additional services are required to complete your move, those costs will be added to your final moving price. Additional services may include piano handling, hoisting, safe moving, special packing, crating, or similar services.
7. Wait Time. If our crew arrives at the agreed time and you are not ready for the move to begin, waiting time will be billed at the same hourly rate listed on your estimate.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

1. To receive a full refund of your deposit, you must cancel within 24 hours of booking your reservation. This policy does not apply to last-minute jobs booked less than 72 hours before the move date. Any cancellation made more than 24 hours after booking will result in the loss of your deposit.
2. Rescheduling requests must be confirmed with your sales representative at least two business days before the move. Rates are subject to change based on availability and the new move date.
3. A $275 cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled move date and time.
4. Any last-minute, same-day cancellation will result in the full minimum cost of your move, as stated in your contract.

Promotional Items

1. Promotional items — including flyers, coupons, third-party vendor or website offers, promo codes, online promotional deals, and certificates — must be submitted and redeemed before the move is booked. Promotional items will not be accepted on the move date unless your salesperson was notified in advance.
2. Promotional coupons cannot be applied to minimum-charge moving services.
3. Promotional items cannot be combined.
4. Returns for promotional items purchased through a third-party vendor or website must be handled directly through the seller or distributor of the promotional item.
5. Purchasing a promotional item through a third-party vendor or website does not guarantee availability or a fixed price for services. Rates are subject to change based on availability.

Disposal Services

1. ICANN Moving Company provides disposal and cleanout services. All disposal services must be approved and confirmed by our staff before they are performed.
2. All disposal services are subject to additional charges unless otherwise specified on the estimate. Charges are based on the amount of space your unwanted items take up on our moving truck (measured in cubic feet at $1.75 per cubic foot), with the following minimum charges:
   • Small items (chairs, end tables, small shelves, boxes): minimum charge applies
   • $35 per article — medium items such as tables, recliners, rockers, cribs
   • $65 per article — large items such as desks, dressers, bed frames
   • $100 per article — oversized items such as mattresses, loveseats, sofas

We reserve the right to decline any request for disposal services without further explanation.

Additional Policies

1. Damages and Claims. Any damage claims must be submitted in writing to our claims department. Damage must also be noted in writing on the bill of lading on the day of your move before the movers leave your premises. Customers sign a bill of lading upon completion of the move. Do not deduct money from the final bill to compensate yourself for damage — this is illegal and is not permitted. Unless payment is made in full when due, we are not required to respond to or process a claim.
2. Moving Refrigerators and Freezers. We only move empty refrigerators and freezers. Please empty all contents before the move. ICANN Moving Company is not responsible for the mechanical condition of the item unless visible physical damage was caused during the moving process.
3. Moving a Grandfather Clock. The customer is responsible for preparing the clock for moving by removing all moving parts, including the pendulum, chimes, and weights. The clock must be stopped by the owner before the move. We cannot stop the mechanism, set the time, restart the mechanism, or make any adjustments after delivery.
4. Moving an Aquarium. Any aquarium being moved must be completely empty. ICANN Moving Company will not move any aquarium that contains décor, water, or other equipment. We will not disassemble, reassemble, or install any aquarium.
5. Moving a Piano. A piano move must be confirmed in detail with our staff before the move.

Payment for Services

1. All charges for a local move must be paid in full by the end of moving day, before the movers deliver the final items into your new location.
2. Payment must be made using the payment method agreed upon in advance. Local moves within the state may be paid by cash, credit card, or debit card.

Moving Insurance

1. All charges must be paid in full before a customer may submit a claim or before we process a claim.
2. Upon completion of the job, the customer is responsible for inspecting the truck to confirm that no items have been left behind.

Customer Declaration of Value

Option A — Basic Insurance. As a licensed common carrier, we are required to provide limited liability coverage at no additional charge to the customer. Under this option, maximum liability is limited to $0.60 per pound, per article, in the event of damage or loss.

Non-Allowable Items

For safety reasons, the following items are not allowed on the moving truck:

• Charged scuba tanks
• Chemicals
• Chemistry sets
• Cleaning solvents
• Darkroom materials
• Fertilizer
• Flammable items
• Fire extinguishers

• Paint thinners
• Paint varnishes
• Pesticides
• Poisons
• Pool chemicals
• Propane tanks
• Rubbing alcohol
• Sterno fuel
• Locked safes
• Plants
• Animals of any kind

Customers are not allowed to ride as passengers or cargo on the moving truck.
