Relocation Moves Come With a Different Kind of Pressure
An employment relocation is not simply a move from one address to another. A start date has already been placed on the calendar. The employee may be finishing work in one city while preparing to begin a new position in another. Their permanent housing may not be ready, and the person approving the move may be hundreds of miles away.
There may also be several people involved:
- The employee or transferee
- A spouse or family member
- An HR representative
- A hiring manager
- A relocation coordinator
- A church administrator
- A government or nonprofit case manager
- An accounts-payable department
- A third-party relocation provider
ICANN Moving Company establishes who is authorizing the work, who will coordinate the move, what services are approved, and where the quote and invoice should be sent before moving day.
Who We Work With
Our employer-paid and company-sponsored moving services may be arranged by:
- Employers relocating new hires
- Companies transferring current employees

Every organization handles relocation differently. Tell us how your program works, and we will explain what is needed to coordinate the move within the approved arrangement.

Three Ways Employer-Paid Relocation May Work
The Employer Pays ICANN Moving Company Directly
The company approves the quote and receives the invoice according to the billing arrangements established before the move.
We confirm the authorized services, billing contact, approval process, purchase-order requirements, and payment terms before scheduling.
The Employee Pays and Requests Reimbursement
The employee books and pays for the move, then submits the itemized invoice to the employer for reimbursement.
After payment, the employee automatically receives documentation showing the services performed, itemized charges, signatures, recorded move times when applicable, payment received, and a zero balance.
The Employee Receives a Lump-Sum Relocation Allowance
Some employers provide a set relocation allowance and allow the employee to choose the moving company and services.
We can help the employee build a moving plan around the available budget, including packing, transportation, specialty-item handling, temporary storage, and other approved services.
The employer or employee is responsible for confirming which expenses qualify under the company’s relocation policy.
Church-Sponsored and Pastor Relocation
Churches and religious organizations frequently assist with the cost of relocating an incoming pastor, minister, clergy member, administrator, or other staff member.
ICANN Moving Company can coordinate directly with the church and the family being moved. The church may approve the quote and receive the invoice while the pastor or family works with us on inventory, packing, access, scheduling, and furniture placement.
Church-sponsored moving services may include:
- Moving into or out of a parsonage
- Relocating a pastor or minister within Texas
- Packing and unpacking
- Moving office and personal belongings
- Piano and organ moving
- Temporary storage between housing dates
- Furniture placement and reassembly
- Multiple pickup or delivery locations
- Itemized invoicing to the church
Before scheduling, we establish who may authorize the work, who is responsible for payment, and whether a purchase order, board approval, or other documentation is required.
Government, Agency and Nonprofit-Paid Moves
ICANN Moving Company can work with government offices, housing organizations, nonprofit agencies, case managers, property managers, and approved programs that arrange moving services for employees, residents, clients, or participating families.
These moves may include:
- Employee or department relocation
- Moving a resident between housing units
- Relocation connected to repairs or renovations
- Senior or disability-related relocation
- Emergency or program-authorized moving assistance
- Furniture pickup and delivery
- Storage-unit moves
- Packing and unpacking
- Commercial and residential moving services
Government or agency work must be approved and arranged before service. Vendor-registration requirements, service authorizations, purchase orders, contract terms, billing contacts, and payment procedures should be completed before the move is placed on the schedule.
ICANN Moving Company does not represent itself as affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency unless a specific written contract states otherwise.
Vendor Documentation and Direct Invoicing
Businesses and organizations may require specific documentation before approving a mover or issuing payment.
Upon request and when applicable, ICANN Moving Company can provide:
- A written moving estimate
- An itemized scope of services
- Company and contact information
- A completed W-9
- Proof of insurance or a certificate of insurance
- Licensing information
- Vendor-registration documents
- Purchase-order references
- Service dates and addresses
- Itemized invoices
- Electronic signatures
- Recorded start and completion times when applicable
- Confirmation of payment and a zero balance
If the organization requires specific wording, job numbers, department codes, purchase-order numbers, employee IDs, or supporting documentation on the invoice, provide those requirements before moving day.
Approved Invoice and Payment Arrangements
With prior approval, invoices may be sent directly to the responsible employer, church, government office, property, agency, nonprofit, or relocation provider.
Any extended payment terms or delayed billing arrangements must be reviewed and approved before booking. A company, church, agency, or government organization is not automatically granted credit simply because it is paying for someone else’s move.
Before confirming the relocation, we establish:
- The responsible payer
- The authorized decision-maker
- Approved services and spending limits
- Required deposits, if applicable
- Purchase-order or contract requirements
- Invoice submission instructions
- Supporting documentation
- Payment method and due date
- Who may approve changes on moving day
This protects the employee, the paying organization, and ICANN Moving Company from confusion after the work has been completed.
Full-Service Employee Relocation
Company-sponsored moves may include much more than transportation.
ICANN Moving Company offers:
- Residential moving
- Long-distance moving within Texas
- Full and partial packing
- Fragile-item packing
- Packing materials
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
- Loading and unloading
- Unpacking services
- Specialty-item moving
- Piano and organ moving
- Gun-safe moving
- Appliance moving
- Pickup and delivery
- Overnight moving-truck holds
- Temporary storage coordination
- Storage-unit move-ins and move-outs
- Multiple-stop and split-delivery moves
The employer may approve the entire relocation or only selected services. Anything outside the approved scope must be authorized by the responsible party or paid for separately by the employee.
One Moving Company From Pickup to Delivery
When ICANN Moving Company accepts an employee relocation, we handle the loading, transportation, and unloading.
We do not sell the move to an unknown broker or outsource the work to another moving company. The employee, employer, and relocation coordinator continue working with ICANN Moving Company from the first quote through final delivery.
This provides one clear point of accountability for scheduling, communication, service questions, and invoicing.
Packing When the Employee Is Already Working
An employee beginning a new position may not have days or weeks available to pack.
We can provide:
- Full-house packing
- Partial packing
- Kitchen and fragile-item packing
- Packing materials
- Furniture preparation
- Unpacking at the destination
The employee can pack as much as time allows and leave the remaining approved items to our professional packing team.
When Permanent Housing Is Not Ready
Sometimes the employee must report to work before the new home or apartment is available.
For a short delay of up to three days, an overnight moving-truck hold may be available when arranged in advance and scheduling allows.
For a longer temporary gap, we can coordinate placement into an appropriate storage facility and deliver the belongings when the destination is ready. Managed temporary storage is not customer-accessible self-storage.
If the employee needs long-term storage or regular access, we recommend renting a storage unit in the employee’s or employer’s name. ICANN Moving Company can move the belongings into the unit and return later for final delivery.
Moving a Family, Not Just an Employee
A successful relocation must work for the entire household.
The employee may be focused on a start date while a spouse or family member handles packing, school schedules, closing dates, pets, utilities, and access to the new home.
We establish the correct household contact and keep the approved organizational contact informed. This allows the employee to concentrate on the new position while the family understands what to expect from the move.
Relocation Pricing and Approval
The cost of an employer-paid move depends on:
- The amount being moved
- Packing and unpacking services
- Number of movers
- Distance between locations
- Stairs, elevators, and access
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
- Specialty or heavy items
- Additional pickup or delivery stops
- Temporary storage needs
- Scheduling requirements
- Organization-specific documentation
- Other approved services
We provide a written quote or estimate for review before the move. If the scope changes, we communicate with the person authorized to approve additional services or charges.
Ongoing Relocation Support for Employers
Companies, churches, agencies, property managers, and organizations that arrange moves regularly can establish a consistent process with ICANN Moving Company.
We can maintain the organization’s preferred:
- Billing contact
- Authorization process
- Documentation requirements
- Purchase-order format
- Invoice-submission procedure
- Scheduling contact
- Service-area information
- Employee communication process
This makes future relocations easier because the administrative requirements are already understood.
